Waterproofing What is it? Conceptually, waterproofing is the minimization of water and other liquid absorption, on surfaces that by their nature are very, less or even slightly absorbent. Why waterproof my surfaces? The reason why to waterproof surfaces is for their protection. Water that effortlessly soaks the surfaces affects them in-depth, makes them vulnerable to fungal growth, mold, changes their natural appearance and in the worst case scenario, destroys them. Surfaces that are not protected are exposed to stains from their daily use, but also to contaminants that penetrate their body and alter their appearance and texture. As a natural consequence, surfaces ‘age’ rapidly. Waterproofing makes surfaces hydrophobic and unaffected by any liquid that comes in contact with them. It facilitates their cleaning with mild detergents and prolongs their life. Finally, it keeps the surfaces ‘new’, clean and attractive. Which surfaces are waterproofed? Any kind of surface needs protection such as plasters on walls, tiles that line floors and walls, marbles, granites and natural stones. D-16 HYDROSTOP Waterproofing agent for grout joints • Siloxane based, clear impregnation liquid for cementitious joints of tiles, granite, marble, glass bricks, natural and artificial stones • With high penetrating ability (microtechnology), it deeply impregnates the joints, making them waterproof • It does not create surface film • Prevents the absorption of stains and dirt • Maintains the ‘freshness’ of the colors of the joints, without affecting their color • Two coatings are sufficient to seal capillary cracks on the surface of the joints and protect from moisture and water penetration. • In bathrooms and kitchens, it ‘prevents’ the absorption of moisture and consequently the appearance of mold • It is not affected by frequent cleaning with mild household cleaners • Easy to use package with blush, which ensures controlled flow. D-59 Waterproofing agent for clay roofing tiles, decorative ceramic bricks & clay pots • Silicone impregnation waterproofing, solvent-free • With high penetrating ability, it waterproofs surfaces without creating surface film and without affecting their nature and shade • Ideal for use on porous, alkaline and non-porous substrates, such as tiles, decorative ceramic bricks, cement slabs, cement boards, concrete blocks, and even traditional ceramic pots • Protects tiled roofs from water absorption, in conditions of heavy rainfall or constant humidity • Protects surfaces from moisture absorption and the appearance of cracks and breaks from prolonged snowfall and frost, while covering capillary micro-cracks up to 0.2mm • It does not favour the growth of mold, lichens and mildew creations while preventing mudrain built-ups • It does not shine, does not turn yellow and does not peel • Ensures surface perspiration • Apply it using a roller or a wide brush or a sprayer. D-17 HYDROSTOP Silicone based impregnating waterproofing agent for decorative bricks • Water-repelling and impregnating agent. Siloxane based, solvent borne liquid • Ideal for use on external vertical surfaces from decorative artificial bricks of cement or ceramic base, exposed ceramic bricks and bricks • The microparticles contained in its composition (microtechnology), easily penetrate the pores of the surfaces, impregnate them in-depth and make them waterproof and free of stain, pollutants and mud • Protects surfaces from water absorption in conditions of intense or constant humidity, while making them particularly resistant to frost conditions • Extremely resistant to alkaline environment, does not favor the growth of fungi, mold and salts • Does not create a surface film, does not shine, does not turn yellow, it does not peel and ‘allows’ the perspiration of the surfaces • Surfaces protected with D-17 are easy to clean • Ready to use, does not dilute • Easy to apply on clean surfaces with using a roller and a wide brush. RENOLIT Stone waterproofing agent • Silicone based waterproofing and impregnating agent, with solvents • With high penetrating ability (microtechnology), it waterproofs and protects stone surfaces from stains and air pollutants • It highlights the natural beauty of the stones, giving a ‘wet’ look, without slipping • Protects the grout of the stone lining from moisture and possible deterioration due to frost, water absorption and consequently the appearance of salts. • Suitable for application on walls and floors, for interior and exterior spaces • In ‘damaged’, older or new stone structures or cladding, it is recommended that they be thoroughly cleaned with D-7 natural stone cleaner • Ready to use, does not dilute • Easy to apply, use a brush, a roller or a spray gun. Protects unpainted plasters from weathering and concrete from carbonization. • The microparticles contained in its composition (microtechnology), easily penetrate their body surfaces, impregnate them in-depth and make them waterproof and free of stains, dirt, mud • Resistant to alkaline environment, does not favor growth fungi, mold and salts • Does not yellow nor does it create a surface film.
